Players, did you try Ice Shot Deadeye build in Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.0? It’s a widely recognized and very powerful build, and player data since the game’s release shows that many players enjoy using it. Now, POECURRENCY.com will be further upgrading Ice Shot Deadeye build, focusing on Critical Swap, Mana issues, and a hybrid setup.
Our ultimate goal is to shift Ice Shot Deadeye towards a hybrid build combining Energy Shield and Life, offering significant advantages over a pure Life build.

A pure Life build consumes a large number of affixes on rings, gloves, and boots to stack Life, resulting in a significant loss of offensive attributes, especially damage affixes on rings and gloves. A hybrid build not only provides a higher effective Life pool but also retains more offensive affix slots.
Equipment
First, POECURRENCY.com will guide you through the ideal state of Ice Shot Deadeye’s equipment:
-
Weapon: Obliterator Bow. Sufficient performance, expected to last until the mirror-tier physical bow is obtained.
-
Rings: Sapphire Ring and Ruby Ring. Offers double base damage, increased cold damage, Chaos Resistance, and Rarity.
-
Gloves: Offers double base damage (ideally triple base damage), Critical Strike Damage, Chaos Resistance, and Rarity. The base damage affix doesn’t necessarily have to be cold damage; fire and lightning damage are acceptable, but cold and physical damage are best, as the build is purely cold damage.
-
Helmets: Provide high Energy Shields, high Resistance, and Rarity.
-
Amulets: We can use PoE2 currency to unlock amulets with four affixes, then gamble on two more, ultimately gaining +2 to projectile skills, which is extremely cost-effective.
-
Boots: +35% movement speed, high Deflection affix, Chaos Resistance, and Rarity.
-
Chestplate: Also has Deflection affix.
-
Potions: Use Lavianga’s Spirits Gargantuan Mana Flask for farming, but switch to the regular Mana Flask for boss fights.
-
Jewelry: Includes affixes such as Critical Damage, Cold Damage, and Life Regeneration on Kill. Heart of the Well provides additional Critical Damage and skill effects.
Cadiro’s Gambit Primed Quiver Analysis
This quiver existed in Patch 0.2.0, but many players still don’t understand its mechanics. Its core effect is that each arrow fired randomly gains one of six attributes:
-
Chain 6 times, with damage increasing with each chain;
-
Split;
-
Pierce and return;
-
Diamond, guaranteeing Critical Hits;
-
600% increased damage on kill;
-
600% Stun Buildup, occasionally allowing for a quick stun against bosses.
This Quiver is extremely valuable in Critical Hit builds because Diamond affix significantly improves the consistency of Critical Hits. The required PoE 2 currency is also relatively low, making it cost-effective.
However, POECURRENCY.com only recommends using it after converting your build to Critical Hit, as non-Critical Hit builds cannot fully utilize the potential of Diamond affix.
If you don’t use this Quiver, a common rare Quiver with affixes like base damage and Critical Hit is also a good choice.
Solutions to Mana Problem
In PoE 2 Patch 0.5.0, insufficient Mana is the most common question for Ice Shot Deadeye. POECURRENCY.com offers three solutions, one of which requires at least one jewel with 2% Mana Regeneration on kill.
The most flexible option is to use a common Mana flask and stack high regeneration speed. The downside of this method is the need for frequent manual key presses, but the 2% Mana Regeneration on kill is sufficient for farming.
Players should note that Lavianga’s Spirits Gargantuan Mana Flask is extremely bad for boss fights, so it’s not recommended for boss content.
Alternatively, you can invest 3 points in Conservative Casting, located in Monk area. This provides 15% Mana Cost Efficiency and 20% Mana Regeneration Rate, significantly reducing skill costs and effectively solving Mana problem.
A third method is to abandon Wind Dancer and replace it with Mana Remnants. This completely solves the Mana problem for both map clearing and boss fights, but you lose 30% more evasion rate, weakening your defense.
This can be combined with Harmonic Remnants and Khatal’s Rejuvenation to obtain Mirage Archer’s cooldown reduction, making it somewhat useful.
If you haven’t unlocked these gear yet, you might miss out on witnessing the full power of Ice Shot Deadeye! But don’t worry, you can buy POE 2 currency from POECURRENCY.com to instantly unlock all related items. The low price and lightning-fast delivery allow you to immediately take your powerful build to the endgame!

You can resolve Ice Shot Deadeye’s Mana issue by choosing any of the methods mentioned above; multiple methods are not necessary simultaneously.
Prerequisites and Timing for Critical Swap
Critical Swap doesn’t need to be rushed; the following conditions must be met:
-
Possess a bow with high Critical Hits and a DPS of at least 400.
-
Character level is recommended to be around 90: Critical Hits skill tree covers a relatively long area, requiring sufficient nodes.
-
Suitable Quiver: Either use Cadiro’s Gambit Primed Quiver, or prepare a rare Quiver with two Critical Hits affixes.
Other equipment doesn’t necessarily need to be changed, but a helmet that provides approximately 30% Critical Strike Chance is indeed very powerful and should be pursued if possible.
Advantages and Conversion Methods of Hybrid Setups
The hybrid build of Energy Shield and Life is the final form strongly recommended by POECURRECNY, and the conversion is extremely simple.
We need a helmet with high Energy Shield and a pair of boots with hybrid affixes; these two pieces are all we need to begin the conversion.
Compared to a pure Life and Evasion combination, the hybrid build provides significantly more Evasion and a large amount of Energy Shield.
Under extreme configurations, we expect to achieve approximately 2.3k to 2.5k Energy Shield, combined with 1.5k Life, resulting in an effective life pool of about 4k, while maintaining high Deflection and Evasion rates.
Despite the nerf, Ghost Dance remains extremely powerful and is worth retaining when building Ice Shot Deadeye.
That concludes POECURRENCY.com’s guide to Ice Shot Deadeye build and upgrade strategies. Hope it’s helpful!
